House Dem Angie Craig Assaulted in Elevator of DC Apartment Building
According to her office, a House Democrat was assaulted in an apartment elevator in Washington, D.C. on Thursday morning.
Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) “defended herself from the attacker and suffered bruising, but is otherwise physically okay,” In a statement, Nick Coe, her chief of staff, said so.
The congresswoman’s office said Craig called 911 and the assailant fled the scene. “There is no evidence that the incident was politically motivated,” The statement has been added.

According to a police report, the incident was described as follows: “simple assault” he claims that there are no hate crimes suspected.
Craig claimed that the suspect was seen in the lobby of her apartment building. “acting erratic” The report states that he behaved as though he was under the influence a mysterious substance.
