The bongino report

Not One Student at 23 Baltimore Schools Can Do Math at Grade Level

Teachers in public schools need to be given a raise.

Why not? It’s a tough job, and if they can get most of their students to learn the basics it makes sense to pay them well.

What if, for example, none of their students are able to perform basic tasks at grade-level?

None. Nada. Zip. Bupkus.

That’s the situation in Baltimore, where the city brags that they have The highest teacher salaries in the nation.

After FOX45’s Project Baltimore’s report There were 23 schools in Baltimore City that had no math proficiency test results., some leaders representing the city aren’t talking about the problem.

Maryland State Department of Education has released 2022 state test results. These are known as MCAP, Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program. Baltimore City’s math scores were the lowest in the state; 7% of third through eighth graders tested proficient in math, meaning 93% could not do math at grade level.

Project Baltimore analyzed the test results and found 23 schools – including elementary, middle and high schools – that didn’t have one student performing at grade level.

Baltimore schools performed better than 23 of the worst performing schools. A staggering 7% of students in grades 3-8 were proficient in math.

Not everything is horrible. Only 93% are truly terrible.

Low teacher salaries and inadequate education spending are common topics. However, when people inquire about the performance of students, the topic shifts to another.

That’s because school districts no longer exist to educate students; they are money laundering operations to distribute jobs to mainly Democrat voters and political machines to funnel dollars into Democrat campaign coffers.

This may sound harsh but it is true. Just look at these results. Students are being scammed and we only hear about funneling more money into an inept system.

It is a terrible system, and the people who are most affected by it are the children of the most economically disadvantaged. Baltimore is a notoriously corrupt city that is virtually unlivable in many areas.

We hear a lot of talk about equity–giving an extra helping hand to people coming from disadvantaged communities. Here’s what a helping hand looks and feels like. The city is run by some of the most progressive people in the country, was represented by progressive hero Elijah Cummings and now Kweisi Mfume, and hasn’t had a Republican Mayor since 1967.

Baltimore is infected by Democrats. Baltimore public school students are also being taken advantage of by Democrats.

Baltimore offers a great example of what equity looks like in practice. An armored vehicle. Because of its high crime ranking, the city is ranked among the top five in the country.
