Hunter Biden Asked Joe’s Top White House Aide To Help Serbian Businessman Campaign for UN Chief
House Oversight Committee has been notified about the connections of Vuk Jeremic, the former Serbian foreign minister, to his first son.
Hunter Biden enlisted then-vice president Joe Biden’s national security adviser to help with a Serbian business partner’s campaign to become secretary general of the United Nations, a scheme that is now drawing scrutiny from the House Oversight Committee as it attempts to piece together Hunter Biden’s web of foreign business dealings.
Hunter Biden arranged a meeting in July 2016 for Vuk Jeremic and Colin Kahl, a Pentagon official who served as then-vice president Joe Biden’s national security adviser, Emails from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop show. Jeremic, a former Serbian foreign minister and energy executive, was looking for American support for an upcoming election for secretary general. Jeremic said that Kahl (now undersecretary of defense, policy and information), was one of the reasons Jeremic remembered. amateur DJ, “promised” To learn more about the election.
While Jeremic’s bid for the top United Nations post was unsuccessful, his ties to Hunter Biden could shed light on the troubled presidential son’s foreign business dealings. Rep. James Comer (R. Ky.) inquired about this link. A letter to Biden on Friday as part of their sprawling probe into the Biden family’s activities in Ukraine, China, and elsewhere.
The Republican inquiry could pull back the curtain on Biden’s efforts to leverage his political connections for profit. “Vuk Jeremic has been connected to Hunter Biden’s business dealings and likely holds key information,” An aide to Comer said the Washington Free Beacon.
Hunter Biden met Jeremic for the first time in 2014. Jeremic was a director of the Mexican state-owned energy company Pemex, and Biden was on its board at Burisma, a scandal-plagued Ukrainian-based energy company. Emails reveal that they had been in talks for a partnership between both companies.
Jeremic approached Biden along with Eric Schwerin on Dec. 1, 2015 to arrange a meeting with Ye Jianming. Ye Jianming was the former-chairman at CEFC China Energy. This Chinese energy conglomerate has been suspected of having links to Chinese intelligence.
“I am confident that many interesting projects may come out of that in the future,” Submitted Jeremic was at that time a consultant for CEFC. In 2017, Biden would join a lucrative joint venture with CEFC.
Biden was contacted Friday by Republicans asking for records about Jeremic, and CEFC executives. They are seeking details of CEFC’s $5 million consulting deal with Biden, and another $1 million that Biden received to represent Patrick Ho, a CEFC executive who was charged with attempting to bribe two African officials on behalf of CEFC for oil rights during the United Nations General Assembly meeting in September 2014. It is unclear what services Biden provided Ho. Biden refers to Ho in private correspondence. “fucking spy chief of China.”
Jeremic also has ties to Ho. Jeremic introduced Ho to Idriss Debby and Sam Kutesa, who later attempted to bribe him. Jeremic advised Ho not to tell African leaders “how fruitful the win-win cooperation with CEFC can be.” Jeremic is not being accused of wrongdoing, and he testified in support of Ho at his trial. Ho was sentenced for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and was sentenced to three year imprisonment
European watchdogs have scrutinized Jeremic’s U.N. ambitions and his “murky links” CEFC. In a 2020 statement, the Royal United Services Institute, an American think tank, stated. Report that Jeremic’s connections to CEFC “appear to follow a pattern of political influence with the aim of serving China’s core political and business interests.” The think tank stated that Jeremic had helped CEFC “establish new contacts within the UN framework” It has made business deals for its benefit “in exchange for political prominence through meetings with Xi Jinping.”
Biden’s former associates have asked whether CEFC approached Biden in connection with an intelligence operation for the Chinese government. Weeks before Jeremic approached Biden about CEFC, the father of a classmate of Biden’s children contacted Biden about the firm.
Scott Oh, the man, informed Biden that CEFC wanted a contribution to the World Food Program. Biden was chairman of this program. “investment opportunities.”
Oh extended an invitation to the Biden family for them to visit and speak in China.
“All expenses will be covered as well as speaking engagements,” Oh Submitted.
