AOC Complains About Christian Super Bowl Ads, Claims They Try to “Make Fascism Look Benign”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-CortezD-N.Y. said Sunday that she didn’t believe Jesus would endorse Super Bowl commercials she claims promote fascism “look benign.”
He Gets Us, a Christian group, spent $20 million to advertise in Super Bowl. The ads showed Jesus as someone who is compassionate for immigrants and the poor. He was also tired with the divisions of politics.
“Something tells me Jesus would *not* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted the message.
Hobby Lobby’s family also funds the advertising campaign. as Christian groups Other anonymous donors. These ads were created to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to LGBTQ+ people, and other communities that feel unwelcome in Christianity.

The other ad shows black-and white images of people in dispute over racial injustice, pandemic lockdowns, or politics. The ad continues with the following statement: “Jesus loved the people we hate.”
The He Gets Us campaign launched in March 2022. It plans to spend $2B over the next few years. These ads lead viewers to a website which includes Bible readings and methods to chat to real people about religion as well as information about Jesus.
