Canada the Latest to Suddenly Not Want to Be a Sanctuary for Illegals

Yeah, well, the cries of Leftists were muted a bit when Colorado’s and Arizona’s Democrat governors joined the club, and they were shut down completely when New York City Mayor Eric Adams decided to ship illegal aliens to Canada. The fact is that liberals’ bloodlust decreases when they attack their own.

It turns out even Trudeau’s Canada–a country that virtue signals like a blue-haired Unitarian minister embracing a drag queen–has a limit to the number of illegal immigrants they will provide sanctuary. And that limit ain’t so high.

The government of Canada’s largest province is demanding that Mayor Eric Adams “immediately” Stop Helping migrants illegally to enter the Great White NorthAccording to The Post, it was recently revealed.

“Any form of assistance to migrants crossing the border where it is strictly forbidden to do so should stop immediately,” a spokesperson for Quebec Premier Francois Legault said.

“We understand that the situation of migrants in New York poses major challenges, but the situation in Quebec and particularly in Montreal is even worse and constitutes an important humanitarian issue.”

The Post reported this month exclusively that Adams was using taxpayer money to buy bus tickets for migrants in Big Apple to travel upstate from Plattsburgh.

Thousands of illegal immigrants stream into the United States each day–amounting to between 5 and 6 million since Biden took office. Canada has to deal with the equivalent of a few days’ worth of US illegal immigration and they cry “Uncle.”

The border crosssings are in Red States for the most part, and nobody in Washington cared, and all the Leftist governors and mayors were reveling in their own virtue until migrants by the hundreds–not millions–showed up on their doorsteps seeking that sanctuary they had been promised.

It became a problem. A huge problem. This was the crisis caused by a few thousand immigrants. “sanctuaries.”

Canada is now complaining about only a few hundred per day. Hmmm. Hmmmm.

As many as 250 migrants use the Roxham Road crossing to illegally enter Canada each day, with nearly all of them settling in Montreal, Quebec’s biggest city, Legault spokesperson Ewan Sauves said.

The situation has overwhelmed Montreal’s ability to provide housing and other public services, with the flood of new students alone equivalent to the opening of 13 new schools, he said.

Roxham Road was used by 39,161 people last year to illegally enter Canada. This represented 99.1% of such border crossings, Sauves stated.

Send all those immigrants back where they belong–living under a bridge in El Paso. This is the solution that the Left truly longs to find.

Only states run by Republicans were supposed to be the victims of Joe Biden’s insane immigration policies. Now that liberals must deal with the real-world consequences their fantasy-driven policies have on the people, they denounce the injustice. It was supposed not to harm DeSantis or Abbott.

Canada has an impressive immigration policy. However, it is dependent on immigrants being thoroughly vetted to ensure they will be productive citizens that will benefit the country. They seek educated and wealthy immigrants and are less open to immigrants with low marketable skills than the US.

So they virtue signal–see, we love immigrants–while ensuring that they don’t actually have to support many of the immigrants with services, as the US does. It’s actually a pretty smart policy, because it is driven by self-interest, not “virtue.”

When compassion is actually required of them–well, there’s no more room at the inn.

Never, ever take the Left’s celebration of their own virtue seriously. These are people who fly in private planes to indulge in climate denial. Their goal is to be virtuous and then pillage the economy. You can only deal with them by making them follow your rules.

Is it possible to have a serious discussion about this issue? Are liberals being held by their own petards?
