Tim Graham: When “Pants on Fire” Fact Checks Are About Biden’s Pants

These so-called fact-checkers act almost as if they are Joe Biden’s siblings or nephews. They won’t let anyone criticize Biden if they don’t have the heart to. “check.” They are always ready to strike!

PolitiFact presented us with two examples in February 10, 2010. Both were “Pants On Fire” Warnings were issued, but one was specific to pants. The headline was “Joe Biden put his pants on backwards,” And their headline continued: “We know all about pants. Doctored image falsely shows Joe Biden wearing his backward.”

Jeff Cercone reported Snopes.com had already corrected it back in October, using a photograph taken in Puerto Rico. However, PolitiFact had no choice but to use the latest Instagram version, which was provided by Mindy Robinson (a Donald Trump supporter). “Holy s–t, Biden put his pants on backwards.”

“Words below the image point to parts of the photo that allege to show Biden’s pants having no fly in the front, a belt loop where the buckle should be and a backward pocket,” reported Cercone. “Having previously rejected a claim that purported to show President Donald Trump also wearing his pants backward — we were suspicious.” Click the link and you will see that their Trump backwards pants claim was not true. “False,” Not “Pants on Fire,” Despite the fact that it was about pants.

Cercone concluded: “The photo in the Instagram post claiming Biden wore his pants backwards is clearly a fake. We rate this claim Pants (worn correctly) on Fire!” Cercone logged four days of February’s first ten days. “fact checks” Biden defends himself online.

Ciara O’Rourke, who is responsible for policing posts on Facebook, also gave her energy to: “Photos show someone in a President Joe Biden mask at the State of the Union.”

One account was named as the Facebook offender “Kelly Marie Brady,” He has 63,000 followers. There is no biographical data — there are no friends or anything. Although the cover photo shows a cartoon showing a woman sitting in a tank with big eyes, it does not show her biographical information. “Q” It’s QAnon. We don’t know if this is an anti-Trump parody. It’s unlikely that it would be considered credible information.

One post shows awkward photos of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. “What in the mask world is goin on hither? Oh lawdy.”

It does not look at all like a Halloween mask.

A second photo of Biden was more obvious and included two images: “Seems we had a mask issue last night, amongst many. One earlobe attached, one not.”

O’Rourke explained: “People commenting on the posts echoed what’s implied here: Biden — not to mention Harris and Schumer — weren’t actually at the State of the Union. But people wearing masks pretending to be them were.”

How can anyone who has seen just 10 seconds of the speech video think that Harris or Biden masks were real? It doesn’t matter. PolitiFact says Facebook is full of conservative morons.

The PolitiFact schoolmarm concluded with: “These claims are unfounded, and fodder that we’ve dug into before, as people see skin folds, shadows and age as evidence of a plot to mislead the public about who the commander in chief really is. It’s Biden, and on Feb. 8, he delivered a speech before Congress.”

These are low-hanging fruits when your job is to raise red flags about Instagram and Facebook posts. Let’s hope that few will disagree with us. “facts.” Pro-Biden aggression can be as apparent as your right pants.
