Latest Twitter Files Reveals Sen. King and State Dept Official Allegedly Used Site to Target Opponents
IMatt Taibbi, Independent Journalist, has released another set of “Twitter Files” Saturday Night using a series tweets to expose the internal communications between Twitter executives looking to reveal government officials and Twitter executives.” Target Constituents and a political opponent, as well as the ability to label different users’ accounts “Russian-controlled.”
Taibbi tweeted the most recent examples of Sen. Angus King (I-ME) and, separately, State Department Official Mark Lenzi attempting to influence Twitter via a series email.

Jim Pfaff, the former Capitol Hill Chief Of Staff, said King used Twitter to pressure users and his political rivals. “clear ethics violation.”
“In the case of Angus King and others, this should be something going before Ethics Committees in the House or the Senate. They are literally using their power, influence and knowledge to shut down speech that they might find problematic,” Pfaff on the a “Twitter Spaces” Discussions on Saturday night “No member of Congress – unless they got someone who does research on this — would know that something was a bot.”
Pfaff then discussed how worrying it was King was sitting on U.S. Select Committee on Intelligence, 2018, when he allegedly pressed Twitter.
Brakey, King’s ex-Republican opponent in 2018, replied on Saturday night at Taibbi’s report about King allegedly trying silence his supporters.
“Matt Taibbi’s report shows that Angus King’s staffers tried to silence his political opponent and hundreds of constituents,” Brakey .
Brakey also added “What King’s staff appears to have done on his behalf is repugnant to American values … Senator King needs to come clean with the people of Maine about his attempts to censor voters and limit freedoms of speech.”
