CEO of Media Company Bankrolled by Dem Megadonors Arrested for Fraud
Marc Lasry and Laurene Powell Jobs are left-leaning billionaires who funded Ozy Media. The ‘business strategy of Ozy Media was based upon outright fraud and deceit’ said Justice Dept Carlos Watson.
After years of lying about viewership numbers and other statistics, Laurene Powell Jobs, a liberal billionaire, arrested the CEO of a media firm. Wall Street Journal reported.
Carlos Watson, former MSNBC host and chief executive of Ozy Media, was arrested following a plead guilty by Samir Rao to presuming to be a YouTube executive while he raised funds and lying about finances.
Watson was indicted by the federal government “engaged in a scheme to defraud Ozy’s investors, potential investors, potential acquirers, lenders, and potential lenders.”
“As alleged, Carlos Watson is a con man whose business strategy was based on outright deceit and fraud,” Breon Peace is the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. “He ran Ozy as a criminal organization rather than as a reputable media company.”
The media company was funded by progressive billionaires like Laurene Powell Jobs, Marc Lasry and a billionaire hedge fund manager whose son ran for the U.S. Senate seat in Wisconsin. Lasry Organised Ozy to raise $35 million in 2019
Jobs, a Democrat megadonor, owns the Atlantic. She has Financed Democrat-aligned group fighting “fake news,” The Washington Free Beacon reported.
Ford Foundation donates to liberal causes, including IbramX. Kendi. The company was given $1.95million in grants in 2016 & 2017.
The company also received funding through the Center for Public Broadcasting. In 2018, the Center gave the company $500,000 Grant A documentary series featuring liberal celebrities would be created. Given its liberal bias in programming, the Congressional Republicans sought to reduce funding for the center.
The New York Times 2021 was the first time Ozy’s actions were brought to light by the publication that reported on Rao’s impersonation strategy. Watson at the same time blamed Rao on his mental illness.
