Good Samaritan Chases and Restrains Drunk Driver After Crash That Killed Texas Cop

Texas authorities Video released that shows a good Samaritan chasing down a drunken driver trying to flee from the scene after a fatal crash in Texas.

The video Fox 4 DallasThe following video shows the aftermath of Dylan Molina’s drunken crash in November 2021. He crashed his rented Jeep into a sedan at an intersection in Lake Worth, Texas.

Alex Cervantes (off-duty Euless Police Detective) drove the white sedan, and he died on the spot while his wife and their two sons were hurt.

Molina attempted to flee, but was captured running away on video. A man holding him down shouts profanities at him and tells him to stop.

KDFW-TV reported that Richardson may have served Molina eight Red Bull double vodka cocktails and 16 single shots on Saturday before the crash.

“Eight doubles, 16 single shots, is more than anybody should have in a three-hour period. Maybe even at all,” Lake Worth Police Chief J.T. Manoushagian said it while watching video from inside the bar.

“Clearly, not in a good place to be operating a vehicle. Clearly intoxicated. He’s holding another one of those double vodka and Red Bull drinks there, and then he simply walks away.”

Molina is believed have been in a minor accident as he left the parking lot and struck Cervantes. Although he was already arrested for DWI in 2021 he wasn’t charged with that crime until after the November collision. Molina was previously convicted of DWI and sentenced to a 15-year term.

“It’s not gonna bring Alex back, but at least he’s locked behind bars and not able to hurt another family like he did ours,” KDFW-TV was informed by Priscilla Cervantes (the wife of Detective Cervantes).
