The Top Spending Cuts Republicans Must Demand Before Raising the Debt Ceiling

Here we go again. The United States has once again run up against its debt ceiling, which currently stands at $31.4 trillion (!). Treasury Dept. Secretary Janet Yellen Announcement Last month, her department began taking payments “extraordinary measures” These measures are necessary to prevent the country from defaulting on its debt. However, they will expire sometime in the summer. The stage is set for yet another battle between Congress and the White House — or more precisely, between Republicans and Democrats — over raising the debt ceiling.

“President” Joe Biden met with Kevin McCarthy, House Speaker, at the end January to discuss the impending impasse. Biden, as expected, asked for a “clean” A bill would raise the debt ceiling while not cutting spending. McCarthy assured McCarthy that this is unlikely to happen.

“That’s not gonna happen. We’re not just gonna keep spending and just raise the limit on our credit card, we’re gonna do something different,” McCarthy Reporters After the meeting.

McCarthy’s inner Republican warrior may have been unleashed by his fight for the Speaker’s chair. Perhaps it’s the many ways that you can throw sand into the gears that are part of the 118th House of Representatives. The House has the ability to demand spending cuts in order to prevent the country from taking on more debt. Here are the top areas where Republicans should take the axe, since cuts have a chance of being part of this deal:

Services for Illegal Aliens

Open border policies and third-world colonization of America by the Biden administration are not cheap. Americans pay over $160 billion each year to the Democrats for their new subclass of dependent voters. This includes housing, food and transportation. It is worse that the Americans who lose their representation are now being forced to dig their own graves with their taxes. Republicans must insist that all funding for services to immigrant except for wall-building, deportations and emergency medical care be stopped. BONUS: This would be a win-win situation for Republicans.

Foreign Aid

Yes, poverty is a problem that affects billions of people all over the world. I’m not trying to sound cruel. There are many things that can be done to alleviate poverty. So that we can lend it to other nations, we literally borrow money from China, our enemy. The cold, hard truth is that we cannot afford to be the largest charity in the world. It is imperative to drastically reduce the tens of millions that flow to Third World countries. International charity should be directed, at least partially, back into the hands non-profits or religious organizations. It is outrageous that government has allowed this kind of mission creep.

Green Subsidies

Time to be magical “green” technologies — which we’re constantly told are cheaper, cleaner, and better than fossil fuels — to prove themselves on the open market. The laughably misnamed Inflation Reduction Act of 20022 Corrected $391 billion Use taxpayer money “support clean energy and address climate change.” This is just a fancy way to say that the United States should go into ever greater debt in order for the left’s green boondoggle friends to keep pimping their products. These products are not reliable and unreliable at producing power, but they make climate pious feel good.

Government Agencies

Only the most blind are aware that the federal agencies have been politicized and corroded to unprecedented levels. This is the Deep State, aka The Swamp. Instead of persecuting political opponents, they fund leftist gobbledygook social programmes domestically and internationally, likely illegally. Goosing Democrat voting levels in elections should cause agencies to return to their original narrowly defined missions. 50% across-the-board cut.

Gender Lunacy and Abortions

These are highly controversial medical interventions that should not be performed under any circumstances. These controversial or ethically questionable medical interventions should not be funded by taxpayers (except for the national defense which is the Constitutional responsibility the federal government). It should be eliminated completely. People who believe strongly in funding baby killing or genital and genital destruction can fundraise for the cause and make donations. Big Tech will surely create an array of new avatars and badges that donors can use to show their support on social media.

Ukraine: Aid

People love the patriotic and photogenic Ukrainian people. Their heroic struggle to save their homeland is inspiring and beautiful. We’ve given them money and supplies to last a full year, far more than their invaders. They’ve been undercut by sanctions and perhaps even imposed new sanctions. Sabotage. Daily death tolls rise and Biden’s inept slide into World War III is becoming more apparent. Ever more vivid On the horizon. Democrats are curiously interested in the future. Oversight is not allowed We are dumping mountains of money into a notoriously corrupt country. It could be. A laundromat for international money. It’s time to turn the switch. Our strategic genius Commander-in-Chief knows one thing: cutting and running. We shouldn’t pull off a complete Afghanistan bug-out of Ukraine. But we should make sure that any future spending is directed towards securing peaceful resolution. The best solution is one that makes both sides mad.

House Republicans have displayed uncommon determination this session. They have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the debt ceiling negotiations. They have several months to present the case for commonsense, almost all-political wins cuts. This is the right time to get political will. Let’s make this happen!
