‘We Asked Too Much Of The Audience’: Disney Exec Offers Excuse For ‘Lightyear’ Flop, Makes No Mention Of Same-Sex Kiss

Docter continued to describe the “Toy Story” These characters are “much broader,” saying, “I think there was a disconnect between what people wanted/expected and what we were giving to them.”
The animated film 2022 earned $226.4 million on a budget of $200 million. This means that it lost money after accounting for marketing expenses.

“Disney put a line in the sand saying, we’re putting this [kiss] back in, but also, we’re not going to remove it for any other territories, in these places that would have a problem with it.” The actor stated, adding that the kiss scene was “nice, and it’s wonderful, it makes me happy.”
“It’s tough to not be a little frustrated that it even has to be a topic of discussion,” Evans also added. “That it is this kind of ‘news.’ The goal is that we can get to a point where it is the norm, and that this doesn’t have to be some uncharted waters, that eventually this is just the way it is. That representation across the board is how we make films.”
Even critics of the controversial kiss scene were critical. They said there were many plot holes in the movie and that it strayed too far away from the original. “Toy Story” The storylines are meant to be enjoyed by the audience in the same manner as the other installments.
Disney just announced they’ll be making “Toy Story 5” These are just a few of the many additions that can be made to existing franchises.
