Princess Kate Beats William In A Spin-Class Race — Wearing A Skirt And Heels
Princess Kate Middleton bested her husband, Britain’s Prince William, in a spin-class cycling race — and she did it with a smile — while wearing a long skirt and high-heeled boots.
William and Kate, whose official titles are — respectively — the Prince and Princess of Wales, were on hand in Wales on Tuesday to celebrate the tiny country’s national holiday, St. David’s Day. The two met with locals several times while they were there.
As Welsh journalist Emily Nash reported, the royal couple made a stop at Brynawel Rehab — an inpatient rehab center specializing in treatment for alcohol and drug dependency.
“NEW: The Prince and Princess of Wales are visiting @BrynawelRehab1 near Pontyclun, where their Royal Foundation is supporting @LifeatNo27 to create allotments and therapy gardens to support mental health in the area,” Nash tweeted with a short video clip.
William and Kate will also visit Aberavon Celtic Leisure Centre where they will be spinning in the spin studio. Kate won the 45-second Tour de Aberavon sprint in heels.https://t.co/puQ5Y0AHe2″>pic.twitter.com/puQ5Y0AHe2

“William and Kate are also visiting Aberavon Celtic Leisure Centre, where this happened in the spin studio! The 45-second Tour de Aberavon sprint was won by Kate, in heels,” Nash shared another video of Princess Kate smiling as she pedals away with the title.
Middleton seemed serious about the contest ten seconds into the race, flipping her long locks over her shoulder, and digging in. From out of frame, a woman chided Prince William — who was also pedaling away — saying, “Your wife’s definitely going twelve-steps, she’s faster.”
The Royal couple As the final countdown began, the spin class laughed with each other. Middleton reached out to her husband to give him a pat on the shoulder at the end of the race. “Talk to me in a minute,” He laughed as he took in his breath.
Everyone applauded and Middleton turned toward Prince William as she clapped. The prize for the 45th race was awarded to “bike number 2” — which was occupied by the princess.
The fitness center visit was part of an initiative that aimed to highlight the benefits of exercise for mental health.
