Megyn Kelly Gets Emotional As Shares Throwback Clip From Wedding Day On 15th Anniversary With Husband

During Sirius XM “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast The host opened the show Wednesday with a tribute of her husband. Later, she spoke about their marriage through a video that played in the background from their special 15-year-old wedding at Oheka Castle on Long Island.
“15 years ago today, I married Doug Brunt,” Kelly shared. “The single best decision of my life… It was a perfect winter day just like today, with a light snowfall outside as inside we burned wood fires and topped the tables with cherry blossoms just coming into season. It was my second marriage, Doug’s first, and I actually feel lucky that it was a second marriage for me. I went in eyes open, having learned a lot about what it takes to make a marriage work. Even more important, a lot about myself …”

[embedded content]Ex-host of Fox News, the former Fox News host confessed that her husband was completely different when she met him. “more reserved, less cocky” and called their romance a “whirlwind.”
“Our romance was a whirlwind – 14 months after we met, Doug asked me to marry him,” The host shared. “Within six months of that, we were married. Three kids later, we’re still going strong. I watched some of our wedding video, which we are showing you here this morning, believe it or not. I cried as my friend and stylist Sara did my hair and I saw the part with the vows.”
“I cannot get through this video without crying,” She added. “But why? Because it’s so optimistic, isn’t it? There’s something so beautiful about love and commitment … Over that 15 years, we’ve suffered loss – his dad, my sister, my nana to name a few.”
Kelly shared the joy of having three children with Brunt and how it was a blessing. “feels like an accomplishment – not going to lie. All parents know, you look at your children and you think: Oh my God I will never do something more meaningful than this.”
Kelly shared some advice for young women to help them find that special someone. “meaningful connection” Not those “random sexual partners.”
“15 years in … this is where the pot of gold is – not in random sexual partners who don’t give a damn about you,” The host shared. “Not in weird new sexuality titles that pronounce you will sleep with anyone and everyone and often at the same time. Not in an all-in profession that asks so much of you there is no time for personal connection.”
The segment ended with the ex-NBC host thanking her husband. “asking me to marry you on that beautiful fall day at the beach in September of 2007. Thank you for meeting me down that aisle in Long Island on March 1st, and for walking next to me ever since.”
