South Australia Seeks World Heritage Listing for Parklands and Hills
After receiving state government support, the four-year-old bid to be listed in World Heritage for Adelaide Parklands and parts of the city has been successful.
Adelaide Hills Council and the City of Adelaide have been working together on the bid. They hope to get backing from the state government to submit a World Heritage Centre submission.
The submission will include all aspects of the bid, as well as the argument proposing the outstanding universality of the regions.
“Our parklands and city layout set our city apart, it’s what makes Adelaide truly unique,” Jane Lomax-Smith, Lord Mayor.
