Nevada Democrats oust socialist incumbent in Democratic Party chair election
Nevada The winner of the ssemblywoman Daniele Monroe Moreno Democratic Party chair election. This will remove incumbent chair Judith Whitmer. It also marks the beginning of a new direction in “unity” Thank you for attending the party.
Monroe-Moreno & her “unity” slate of Nevada Democratic Victory candidates defeated Whitmer’s slate. She won the chairmanship This indicates that Democrats want to overthrow Whitmer in order to win key races in the Senate as well as in White House, in 2024.

This was the statement of the new chair “2024 is far too important, and the division within our party had to come to an end.”
“It wasn’t going to do anyone any good,” After her win, she spoke out to reporters per The Nevada Independent. “The 2022 election cycle was difficult. We won a lot of seats, but we did it with division, and we can’t continue to do that. So I ran so we can bring the family, the Democratic family, back together.”
After Whitmer, several democratic socialists and others gained leadership positions in 2021, party staff and consultants left the party and founded the Nevada Democratic Victory group within the Washoe County Democratic Party.
Democrats have criticised Whitmer’s leadership of the party, accusing Whitmer of closing off access to the key voter database. The former chair denied this charge. Whitmer also endorsed an opponent to the former Governor. Steve Sisolak was appointed lieutenant governor.
