I Use Painting To Challenge The Left’s Vise-Grip On The Art World
These positions are highly visible and coveted in the art industry. They have been occupied more by art that is conformist to dominant ideologies rather than art with artistic merit. Modern art promoted by universities, museums and legacy media artists critics often conforms with the doctrines of closely-related schools of thought. “progressive,” “leftist,” And these days “woke.”
One example is: While art may denigrate Christianity it cannot be done with other religions, or atheism. It can challenge traditional morals aesthetics but not progressive morals or aesthetics.
Art can be politically or even offensive. However, today art is being constrained and monopolized by the cultural bloc that is dominant in art, which happens to be the left. The left is also stifling and crushing art; it’s not flourishing.
The medium of art can be used to explore truth, lies, enigmas and emotions. A painting or sculpture may open new perspectives and pose questions. They can also speak directly to the viewer viscerally. We can’t keep art in the ideologies of one group or exclude another; artists must be free to explore.
The Counter-Cultural Apreciation of Beauty
Art is not required to be politically correct in a culture hostile to beauty. Even though landscapes might not be appealing, they can still sound beautiful. “alternative,” However, it is not common for contemporary mainstream art to showcase landscapes that are meant as celebrations of their subject matter.
Landscape painting is often viewed by religious painters as an act for worship, as it celebrates God’s creation. Many landscape painters, viewers and observers are seeking the same thing religious or not. “something” In the landscape, deeper truths and emotions are expressed in and through the external world.
This is a landscape that depicts my mountain home. By focusing more on the Earth and its topography, landscape painting demonstrates a sense of humility.
However, humans are expressive microcosms which reflect macrocosms. As such statements from the renowned author: “made in the image of God” Or “as above, so below.” Combining figures with landscapes opens up new worlds for communication and expression through painting. (As seen in the piece by Steve Henderson, my father).
Below is an image of a street scene in the town where I reside. Artists from all walks of life tend to focus heavily on the worlds the powerful, rich and well-known. Of all the worlds we live in, most are often unaware of its prosaic reality.
Domestic scenes, including those of people and pets, are important. It is just as important to paint the everyday world as it is paintings of politicians, royals, history, religion and mythology. Prosaic scenes are a way to see the beauty in everyday life. “ordinary” In fact, the world is amazing.
Allegory and Symbolism. Satire.
It is possible to use art to investigate conflict situations. The response to the Covid-19 epidemic provided many opportunities.
“Sanity, Her Son, and the Credulous” The first painting that I made exploring mask mandates in 2020.
“Don Quixote de la Left” An oil painting of the Ottawa Trucker Freedom Protest. The left deludes themselves into thinking everyone they disagree with is a Nazi to justify their Quixotic attack on medical freedom and other populist movements. The piece is tied to the Ottawa Protest by using the Ottawa Parliament Building as well as the trucks. This provides a base for all the symbolism that follows.
A non-gratuitous, justifiable depiction is an effective way to expose dark human acts. The ultimate threat to kill or confine those who refuse to succumb the the less severe pressures of sanctions, fines, closure of businesses, threats and sanctions is the basis of state medical authority. As many protesters in lockdowns against police have discovered, these threats are not unfounded. Followers of “The Science” To force medical authority to comply, they rely on the threat of violence.
Many artists are working outside the boundaries of mainstream art and producing great work even though they may not have the same access and resources. It’s possible to find great artwork, but it is harder than finding it with the support of an establishment.
