Former Trump campaign official Paul Manafort settles in $3.15 million lawsuit with US government

Manafort faced additional criminal charges in the larger Robert Mueller investigation into Trump’s connections to Russia and those associated with him. Manafort was released from prison. convicted in 2018 of eight financial crimes, with several relating to political consulting work in Ukraine — which led to his removal from the president’s campaign less than a month after Trump accepted the GOP nomination.
Although the sentence for this convicted political consultant was more than seven years, it was only a partial one. pardoned by Trump In December 2020.
