Jan. 6 Committee Edited Out Context of Sen. Hawley Fleeing Capitol, New Footage Reveals
The new footage, taken from the U.S. Capitol’s halls on Jan. 6, 2021 shows that members of the defunct Jan. 6 investigation committee (Democrat-led) selectively cut footage in order to display Sen. Josh Hawley (R. Mo.). While Hawley fled the building, the wider context revealed that he was part of a larger group including lawmakers and congressional staff who were being removed from the building.
Tucker Carlson, Fox News’ host on Monday, played clips taken from Capitol security footage which Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy shared recently with Tucker’s production crew. A group of legislators were seen running down a corridor, Hawley at the rear.

Carlson presented footage of legislators running out the Capitol, alongside the clip from the Jan. 6-committee’s duplicate footage. This footage showed Hawley only running down the hall on Jan. 6, 2021.
The Jan. 6, Democratic-controlled committee presented footage The photo was taken on July 22, 2022 and shows Hawley only running down the hall. Rep. Elaine Luria, D-Virginia presented another photo showing Hawley raising her fist up in solidarity with the protesters outside Capitol Hill on Jan. 6. The protests were not violent at the time Hawley raised her fist. Luria also claimed that Hawley had made the gesture. “riled up the crowd.”
Everyone in attendance laughed at the July clip that Jan.6 committee presented. Michael Fanone, a Jan. 6 witness who was also a former DC Police Officer, immediately reacted to the presentation. told He thought reporters were outside his hearing chamber. “Josh Hawley is a b***h.”
“In fact, the surveillance footage we reviewed shows that famous clip was a sham, edited deceptively by the January 6 committee,” Carlson stated. “The clip was propaganda, not evidence. The actual videotape shows that Hawley was one of many lawmakers being ushered out of the building by Capitol Hill Police Officers and, in fact, Hawley was at the back of the pack.”
Reactions to Footage release
NTD News reached Hawley’s office to request comment but he was unavailable before the article went public. Abigail Marone was Hawley’s spokesperson and tweeted that the Jan.6 committee deceived the American people. news producers To make the hearings more interesting, they brought in the committee.

They had all the footage and chose to take it out of context to go after their political opponents like Josh Hawley. And they bragged about it,” Marone sent a tweet Monday night. “The American people should’ve had the full context all along. Instead, we got a Democrat political ad funded by our taxpayer dollars.”
NTD News reached out to the office of Rep. Bennie Thomson (D-Miss.).NTD News also reached out to Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), who served as the chairman of the now disbanded Special Investigative Committee. Thompson didn’t respond to this article before it was published.

Defendants Demand More Footage
In addition to showing some broader context of Hawley’s actions on Jan. 6, 2021, Carlson also aired footage that showed Capitol Police officers peacefully escorting convicted defendant Jacob Chansley—the so-called “QAnon Shaman”—around the building. Chansley, who is currently serving the longest sentence for his entry into the Capitol building on Jan. 6th, was not charged with any violent acts. Carlson stated that the footage proved Chansley “understood that Capitol Police were his allies.”
