Fairfax County Schools Accused Of Suppressing Sex-Ed Data
A troubled north Virginia The school district decided to make parents and teachers more upset with its new policy. Boys and girls would be taught sex education in the same grade level, possibly in order not to alienate their trans-identifying classmates.
Fairfax County Public Schools currently has instruction separated by sex. However, LGBTQ activists claim that this causes harm to trans students, forcing them to identify as a different gender or making it difficult for them to express themselves. The proposal’s opponents argue that mixing the classes through sex will create tension and awkwardness, reduce student participation and increase the likelihood of them leaving the program altogether.
“Notwithstanding the public expressing its clear opposition to this & explaining how combined classes will be less effective, the Family Life Committee plans to push forward with the plan for political reasons,” Fairfax County Parents Association posted via Twitter.

For much of the past decade, the controversy surrounding Family Life Education (FLE), and questions around sex/gender identity has been a major issue in the district. “Fairfax County has prided itself for a long time on being a progressive wedge and setting the tone.” Laura Bryant Hanford was a member of the County’s FLE Curriculum Advisory Committee, according to the Daily Wire.
Fairfax is not an isolated institution. Parents, educators, and even residents still have concerns about Fairfax’s gender ideologies and their impact on FLE.
“We’re oversexualizing kids,” One community member spoke out to The Daily Wire, requesting anonymity because he was afraid of reprisal. “We’re asking the kids their sexual preferences … their gender … why are we even talking sexual preference in middle or elementary school? … This is an age when they’re confused.”
Nevertheless, many people feel that the matter is so contentious they cannot speak up without great personal risk.”People have jobs,” Andrea Bayer was a former candidate on the school board and spoke to The Daily Wire. “They’re contractors and government employees, and anything they say will be used against them.”
“Fairfax County doesn’t play around,” One resident spoke out for The Daily Wire. “If, somehow, they got wind that I talked to you, they’re coming for me now.”
