Republican Mitch McConnell Hospitalized After Fall in Hotel
WASHINGTON (Reuters)—U.S. His spokesperson stated that Senator Republican Leader Mitch McConnell was admitted to the hospital after falling and tripping at a Washington hotel on Wednesday.

Over the years many Democratic priorities were quashed by the 81 year-old Kentucky Republican. He was a major in both the House and Senate, when Democrats held the edge.
Democrats have long hated him, especially for the tactics that enabled Republicans to gain a 6-3 majority at the U.S. Supreme Court. He has drawn criticism from Donald Trump for his false claim that Trump’s 2020 defeat in the election was due to fraud.
McConnell, who now holds a slim 222-213 majority at the U.S. House of Representatives has remained silent in the U.S. House of Representatives debate on raising the country’s $31.4 trillion debt ceiling. He left talks to Kevin McCarthy and Joe Biden.
McConnell, currently serving his 7th term that runs through 2026 is the 3rd U.S. Senator to have been hospitalized in recent weeks.
John Fetterman (Democrat) is in treatment for depression. Diane Feinstein (Democrat), was recently released to rest from shingles.
The 51-49 margin is held by Democrats including three independents voting with them.
McConnell was the first senator to be elected in 1984. McConnell was elected to the Senate in 1984. He has served as Senate majority leader between 2015 and 2021.
McConnell, a former Jefferson County judge-executive, Kentucky, has helped to steer the federal judiciary strongly towards the right over his almost four decades of service in the Senate.
Republicans had 15 rounds to vote after winning a slim majority in the House last November’s elections. McCarthy became their speaker. McConnell, however, was easily won by Senate Republicans.
