A hearing was held on behalf of the House Judiciary Select Subcommittee. “The Twitter Files” Thursday

Delegate Stacey Plaskett (Democrat representing the United States Virgin Islands) made her opening statement and attacked Matt Taibbi, Michael Shellenberger, and others. Plaskett attacked Shellenberger, Taibbi, and all those who were being called to testify before this committee in her opening statement. “so-called journalists.”

Taibbi opened his statement by describing his achievements throughout his career. The journalist described the experience of being forced to take on the role of primary information disseminator for The Twitter Files.

He also described the information he had been allowed to review before releasing it to the public. Elon Musk made the decision to make the information available to the public as part his campaign to restore free speech on Twitter.

Taibbi closed his opening speech by stating that “free speech is the best defense against the ‘Censorship-Industrial Complex.’ If there’s anything The Twitter Files show, it’s that we’re in danger of losing this most precious right, without which all other democratic rights are impossible.”

Plaskett continued to assert that Shellenberger, Taibbi, and Shellenberger were the same person. “pose a direct threat to people who oppose them.”

Plaskett stated that the hearing was also a success. “unacceptable,” Tucker Carlson also has access to the January 6Th footage.

Representative Sylvia R. Garcia (D-Texas.) Taibbi was also questioned by Sylvia R. Garcia (D-Texas) about the timeline of events since his source first contacted Taibbi.

“You earlier said that someone had sent you through the internet, some message about whether or not you would be interested in some information,” Garcia said. 

“Yes, and I referred to that person as a source,” Taibbi is back.

“So you’re not going to tell us when Musk first approached you?” Garcia asked him.

“Again, congresswoman, you’re asking a journalist to reveal a source,” Taibbi stated.

Garcia then asked him if Musk was his direct source. Taibbi replied that he couldn’t answer. Jim Jordan, Chairman of the Committee, accused the Democrat of repeatedly asking him his source.

This led to a dispute between the members of the committee, Jordan lashing out at the Democrats for forcing him to reveal his source, which he claimed was a violation the First Amendment.

Garcia was about to expire and Garcia made her last accusation, asking if the reporters were being paid to testify in front of the committee. Jordan was disbelieving and refused to believe this, as were the journalists.

The release of The Twitter Files to public was made possible by the testimony of the two reporters, Musk and the reporter.

Twitter Files are an internal set of documents that reveals the relationship between Jack Dorsey and various organizations and government entities.
