Multiple fatalities in Jehovah’s Witnesses church shooting in Germany

After a shooting at a Hamburg church, six people have been killed and seven others are hurt. Authorities believe that this mass shooting was isolated.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., police responded at the scene to a shooting at a Jehovah’s Witness congregation. The police arrived at the scene and saw several victims lying on the ground and many others who sustained injuries.

The upstairs heard a gunshot. Authorities discovered another dead body when they investigated the cause of the noise. Authorities suspect that the shooter is the deceased person discovered on the third floor. There are no signs that a suspect may be on the run.

Investigators say that there isn’t. “indications that a perpetrator may have been in the building and may be even among the dead.”

Following reports of the shooting, the mayor of Hamburg, Peter Tschentscher, tweeted out his sympathies to the families of the victims.

The motive for this attack is not yet known. Residents are being urged to remain indoors while emergency services investigate the situation. There was no information on the extent of the injuries sustained by the wounded.
