Minnesota dad uses moose antler to kill sex offender

After he realized that his daughter was being stalked by a sex-offender, a Minnesota father took matters into his own hands.
According to court records, Levi Axtell (27 years old) turned himself into Minnesota authorities. He said that he beat a man using a shovel 15-20 times. “finished him off” By using a moose horn. He was then charged with second-degree killing.
Axtell believed that Lawrence Scully (77), a man who was previously convicted of molestation of a 6-year-old girl in 1979, was stalking his toddler child.
Fox News reports that the 27-year old was suspicious of Scully, believing that he was stalking Scully’s daughter at day care. Scully claimed that he was a friend of his for many years. He believed that Scully had died. “sexually offended against children in the past.”
Axtell claimed that Scully was seen in a vehicle at several locations where children were present. “believed he would re-offend.”
A father had filed for protection against Scully in 2018, but it was denied. The order was dropped for unknown reasons several weeks later.
According to The Associated Press reports that there had been allegations against Scully in the past, but no investigations were conducted. Cook County Sheriff Pat Eliasen stated that “most of the reports were regarding harassment.”
Axtell arrived at Sheriff’s office on Wednesday night covered in blood. “put his hands on his head and said that he had murdered (Scully) with a shovel” According to the affidavit. Deputies went to Scully’s house and found him. “obviously dead form the serious nature of his head wounds.”
The 27 year-old was arraigned through zoom on Friday. He is being held on a $1million bond in anticipation of his next court appearance on April 10.Th.
