Former Clinton White House Adviser Issues Apology to Conservatives
This week, Naomi Wolf, feminist author and former Clinton White House official issued A “formal letter of apology” Republicans and conservatives after believing the things she described. “lies” About the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol breach.
Wolf was the headline-grabbing author in 2021-2022 who challenged official narratives regarding COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccines. “peaceful Republicans and conservatives as a whole have been demonized by the story told by Democrats in leadership of what happened that day” Tucker Carlson, Fox News host, aired new footage from the Capitol breach last week. Wolf was an outspoken opponent to COVID-19 lockdowns as well as vaccine mandates. Twitter’s old management suspended her account, but it was reinstated months later.
“Republicans, conservatives, I am sorry. I also believed wholesale so much else that has since turned out not to be as I was told it was by NPR, MSNBC and the New York Times,” Wolf wrote about Substack. “Anyone in leadership who misrepresented to the public the events of the day so as to distort the complexity of its actual history—must also be held accountable,” She wrote.
Wolf stated in her missive that she had just released new footage of “QAnon Shaman” Jacob Chansley, and U.S. Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick appeared to contradict narratives that were promoted by the mainstream and many Democrat legislators. The footage appears to show Chansley being led by the officers through Capitol grounds, with no attempt to stop him. Sicknick was then seen walking around, motioning for protesters to leave.
She disagreed with some Carlson conclusions regarding the footage but people don’t necessarily have to agree with his interpretation. “to conclude that the Democrats in leadership, for their own part, have cherry-picked, hyped, spun, and in some ways appear to have lied about, aspects of January 6, turning a tragedy for the nation into a politicized talking point aimed at discrediting half of our electorate.”
“You don’t have to agree with Carlson’s interpretation of the videos, to notice the latest hypocrisy by the Left,” Wolf was also added. “My acquaintance and personal hero Daniel Ellsberg was rightly lionized by the Left for having illegally leaked the Pentagon Papers. The New York Times was rightly applauded for having run this leaked material in 1971.”
She added this later “those who violently entered the Capitol or who engaged in violence inside of it, must of course be held accountable” And “as must violent protesters of every political stripe anywhere.”
Her apology was made after Kevin McCarthy, Republican from California, released thousands upon hours of footage to Carlson and his team. He said that the videos will be available later to the general public. The decision to release the footage has been strongly criticized by both Senate Republicans and Democrats members of Congress.
Last week, just before Carlson was admitted for a concussion, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., questioned Carlson’s conclusions. “It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that’s completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks,” McConnell spoke to reporters.
However, a top Republican House lawmaker is not. The footage was only released in a limited manner. Numerous news outlets have also called McCarthy and other congressional leaders to release the Jan. 6, tapes.
“It’s basically controlled access to be able to view tapes. Can’t record, can’t take anything with you,” In late February, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R.Ga.), who is the chairman of House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, spoke to reporters. “Then they will request any particular clips that—that they may need, and then we’ll make sure that there’s nothing sensitive, nothing classified—you know, escape routes.”
Interviews With On March 10, Chansley and Carlson’s mother Martha declared their innocence and claimed that prosecutors concealed exculpatory evidence.
“It should have come out two years ago. That [clip] should have come out two years ago. He’s an innocent man. Everything that [Jacob] said that he did is true—that he walked through open doors. He was escorted through the halls of the Senate,” Martha Chansley proclamed.
