The Office actor Rainn Wilson declares ‘there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood’

The Office actor Rainn Wilson acknowledged what he called an “anti-Christian bias in Hollywood.”

Wilson took to Twitter to comment on the eighth episode of HBO Max’s The Last of Us and the show’s main character Ellie who encounters a cannibal and cult leader named David quoting from the Bible.

“I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood,” Wilson tweeted. “As soon as the David character in ‘The Last of Us’ started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain. Could there be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and kind?”

Twitter users replied in agreement, with one suggesting that “positive portrayals of Christianity are rare, but [Jesus Revolution] was simply beautiful.”

“Rainn, we disagree on a lot,” another tweet stated, “but thank you for acknowledging this. As a Christian there’s not much content that I can’t dive into and get excited about and the last episode of TLOU was just a slap in the face.”

Another Twitter user mocked Wilson’s post, questioning why he was “acting surprised.”
