‘This Is The American Dream’: Ke Huy Quan Models How To Give A Perfect Oscars Acceptance Speech
One of the highlights of Sunday’s Oscars was Ke Huy Quan’s acceptance speech. This speech came after he had won the Oscar. “Best Supporting Actor” Award for his contribution to “Everything Everywhere All At Once.”
“My journey started on a boat. I spent a year in a refugee camp. And somehow I ended up here, on Hollywood’s biggest stage,” Quan. “They say stories like this only happen in the movies. I cannot believe it’s happening to me. This is the American dream.”
Quan was overcome with emotion and he cried as he thanked his mother, brother, wife, and sister. “Thank you to my mom for the sacrifices you made to get me here. To my little brother David, who calls me every day just to remind me to take good care of myself. I love you, brother,” Quan continued. “I owe everything to the love of my life, my wife, Echo, who, month after month, year after year, for 20 years, told me that one day, one day, my time will come. Dreams are something you have to believe in. I almost gave up on mine. To all of you out there, please keep your dreams alive. Thank you, thank you so much for welcoming me back. I love you.”
Quan’s speech stands out from the Academy Awards’ dreaded virtue signaling. Marlon Brando sent a woman called “Quan” to set the precedent for left-wing posture during 1973’s Academy Awards. “Sacheen Littlefeather” To speak on his behalf regarding the situation of American Indian actors at Hollywood, after he won “Best Actor” His leadership role in “The Godfather.” Later, she revealed the truth. Families Littlefeather actually is a “pretendian,” Maria Cruz is her real name. Cruz is Hispanic. “Indian” Heritage was entirely invented.
The fake virtue-signaling has become bolder and more absurd over the years. Leonardo DiCaprio made a speech at the 88th Oscars. nauseating climate speech, yet to this day he continues to Gallivanting All over the globe, there are gas-guzzling private aircraft and yachts. Not just the Oscars; the 2018 Golden Globes also show this. Oprah Winfrey To ostensibly support women and the rights of the sexes, he took to the podium “Me Too” movement. Winfrey was notable for being a close candidate. friend Harvey Weinstein was a convicted rapist who took advantage of many women in Hollywood. Year after year, people continue to watch the Oscars and other Hollywood award show. Redes Trump, racism, poverty and dolphin conservation
Meanwhile, L.A. is in a severe drug and homelessness crisis outside of the Los Angeles Dolby Theatre.
Quan was a different kind of person when he accepted his award. He expressed genuine gratitude, humility and grace. He also thanked his parents, and especially his mother, who made so many sacrifices for him. He also thanked America for the many opportunities it offered him. He survived in a refugee camp as an infant and was able to escape the horrors of communist Vietnam.
Instead of torturing viewers, try telling them to stop carbon emission shaming. Moments of silence Quan encouraged Ukrainens to never lose heart about their dreams. Quan did not talk about systemic injustice, depressing or false claims that the American dream rests on immutable characteristics such as skin color and sexual orientation. Quan’s message was sincere and inspirational. Since then, his comments have been viralized on social media. His sincerity has struck a chord among viewers.
Quan’s speech resonates far more with Americans than DiCaprio or Littlefeather. No one watches the Oscars to see hypocrisy preached at. We look for beautiful moments such as Quan’s acceptance speech.
If other celebrities follow Quan’s lead, maybe the Academy Awards will regain the prestige, viewership, and viewership it has been slowly losing.
