South Korean Joint Chiefs: North Korea launched ballistic missile toward Sea of Japan

North Korea claimed that it launched two ballistic missiles with short range towards the Sea of Japan this weekend.

North Korean state television reported that North Korea fired two missiles toward the Sea of Japan, pre-empting the United States’ annual military drills.
“Tokyo was aware of the launches, and was collecting information. There were no reports of damage from the firing,” Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said.
