Stimulus update: Direct $500 payments for more than 300 families to be sent in one day
FAamilies receive money from a Guaranteed Income California residents will receive $500 in their next payment within one day.
Sonoma County The Pathway to Income Equity program selected 305 families to receive $500 each month for two years. The next payment is scheduled to be March 15. Officials will examine the impact of additional income on poverty reduction and economic mobility for families with young kids. According to The Sonoma County Administrator’s Office.

“These payments will help families with young children who are often struggling under the double burden of the high costs of housing and child care — typically the two highest household expenses,” Chris Coursey is the chairman of Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. “The information we gain from this pilot program will help shape future efforts to improve the health and welfare of our community.”
Angie Dillon–Shore, the director of First 5 Sonoma County’s nonprofit group, spoke to the Washington Examiner These payments would reach recipients on the third Wednesday each month, with the final payment being issued in December 2024.

Only applicants who met the criteria for the program were eligible to apply. This included being a Sonoma County resident. Other requirements included being pregnant, or the parent of a child under 5, and being affected by The pandemic coronavirusIf you earn less than 185%, it is considered to be poverty. For a family of 3, the federal poverty level is $42,606
There were 6,450 applications online that were received for review. Of these, 2,383 met the eligibility requirements. The program was open for applications from September 1 through October 31.
