Bodies and ashes of 154 people found in warehouse linked to unlicensed mortuary

Oceanview Cremations discovered the remains of a deceased person. They had been operating under a suspended license. reportedly The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau recovered the body on March 1.

The bureau stated that operations at Oceanview have been illegal since 2018, and the remains there were found in 2013.

Five of the six bodies have been identified, as opposed to four of the 154 cremated remains. Report noted.

Oceanview could continue its work unlicensed, officials stated. This was because the California Cemetery and Funeral Board had not notified the coroner’s bureau about the suspension until late February.

Anybody who worked with Oceanview between 2013 and 2021 can help to identify the unmarked remains.
