Former Larry Hogan chief of staff wanted by US marshals

Roy McGrath, 53 years old, was to appear in court Monday to face charges of theft during his time as Hogan’s employee. According to WBAL TV. McGrath was finally arrested after several hours of waiting. The U.S. Marshals Service issued an arrest warrant for McGrath after waiting several hours. The U.S. Marshals Service issued a statement and wanted poster to assist the fugitive.

The service “has initiated an interstate fugitive investigation and is now seeking to apprehend (the) former Maryland governor’s top aide,” The statement was read.
McGrath’s attorney didn’t know McGrath planned to skip trial. He also doesn’t know any details about McGrath’s current location.
“Unfortunately, Mr. McGrath has not appeared in court today. And I’m unaware of where he is,” Joseph Murtha stated. “The trial will not start today, and I believe it will be postponed.”
Murtha stated that he last spoke with McGrath Sunday afternoon. He stated that the former aide hadn’t shown any signs of a plan to flee that afternoon.
“I had a very engaged conversation regarding what was going to be happening today, and a variety of issues that we have been discussing over time,” He concluded. “I sensed nothing that would cause me concern about Roy’s plans for today.”

Murtha said that McGrath’s wife wasn’t aware of her husband’s plans. “anxiously” I am still waiting to hear from him. According to The Baltimore Banner. He said that she was apparently cooperating in law enforcement’s efforts to locate him.
McGrath faces five wire fraud charges, two theft counts, and one falsifying document count. Separate charges against McGrath for misconduct and wiretapping he faced while working with Hogan are expected to be filed in July.
