White House Says Biden Wants to Meet With Xi After China-Brokered Iran-Saudi Arabia Deal

According to the White House and President Joe Biden, Communist China is on a constant march for power throughout the world.

The White House acknowledged that the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP), is working hard to build its international reputation after a CCP-brokered agreement to reestablish diplomatic connections between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

“China has made no secret of the fact that it wants to expand its influence around the world, whether that’s in Africa, Latin America, or the Middle East,” John Kirby, National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, said this during a March 17 press conference.

Kirby claimed that the CCP was using the recently brokered deal to increase its propaganda status. Kirby declined to answer questions about whether the deal was part the wider strategy of the CCP to undermine the United States and expand its legitimacy.

“I would be cautious in speculating that there’s some sort of grand strategy afoot,” Kirby said.

“It’s more a part of their attempts to increase their influence and to look as though their influence is in fact increasing.”

Surprise announcement of the agreement comes just after the CCP’s unsuccessful attempt to position itself in peace broker status for the ongoing Russian conquests of Ukraine.

However, the White House has taken note of the CCP’s increased engagement in international affairs and efforts to rally authoritarian power against the United States.

Kirby indicated that the Biden Administration was currently in the process of arranging a meeting in person between President Biden and CCP leader Xi Jinping.

“The President has said he wants to talk to President Xi in the near future,” Kirby said. “We will work to set that up.”

“To my knowledge there’s been no outreach to the Chinese to work on the logistics at this point.”
