Vivek Ramaswamy Warns Trump Indictment Would Be ‘National Disaster’

Recently, various reports suggest that law enforcement agencies at local, state, and federal levels are getting ready to indict Trump as early as next week based on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation, which involves alleged hush money payments paid to former adult film star, Stormy Daniels, during the 2016 election cycle. If Trump gets indicted, this will be the first time in history that a former U.S. president will face criminal charges. Although Trump denies any wrongdoing and alleges being targeted in a political witch hunt, he has called on his supporters to protest. Various potential or existing GOP candidates, such as Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, and Mike Pence, have opposed the indictment’s potential impact on the race, and Ramaswamy, who announced his presidential run in February, argued in a similar vein that the country’s voters, not a prosecutor, should decide who governs the United States. In his opinion, indicting Trump will mark a dark moment in America’s history and undermine the people’s confidence in the electoral system, and he urges the district attorney to put aside partisan politics and instead focus on preserving the constitutional republic.
