Ron DeSantis slams Alvin Bragg for ‘pursuing a political agenda’ in possible Trump indictment

Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) criticized Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for his possible indictment of former President Donald Trump on Monday.

During the press conference, DeSantis stated that although he is not aware of any facts of Trump’s arrest, he questioned Bragg’s crime record, calling him a district attorney funded by George Soros who is “pursuing a political agenda.”

DeSantis emphasized the negative impact district attorneys who receive campaign donations from Soros for their campaigns have on their communities. He also stated that his office will not partake in the “manufactured circus,” and that he did not have a direct response to questions regarding Trump’s extradition.

“We won’t be involved in this. I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA,” DeSantis said. “He’s trying to do a political spectacle. He’s trying to virtue signal for his base. I’ve got real issues I got to deal with here in the state of Florida.”

When asked if there had been any conversations between law enforcement in New York and Florida about Trump’s arraignment, DeSantis replied that he was unaware of any interactions between the two states.

Trump has stated that he anticipates being arrested on Tuesday following reports which suggested Bragg was preparing charges against Trump for paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016.
