DeSantis Criticizes Manhattan DA, Calls Trump Investigation a ‘Manufactured Circus’
Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, criticized Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, for conducting a criminal investigation against former President Donald Trump involving alleged hush money payments made to adult performer Stormy Daniels.
Although rumors circulate that Trump’s indictment is imminent, DeSantis has received no information about it. He referred to the investigation as little more than a publicity stunt by a “Soros-funded prosecutor,” distracting him from running Florida, the country’s third-largest state, and real issues that need to be dealt with. DeSantis said that he has no interest in getting involved in a political circus, and the state of Florida won’t be either.
Billionaire financier, George Soros, has been supporting the candidacies of progressive prosecutors who, upon election, have implemented radical law enforcement agendas by declining to prosecute certain types of crimes or requiring bail from defendants. California’s San Francisco District Attorney, Chesa Boudin, was recalled by voters when crime rates rose. District Attorney, George Gascon, of Los Angeles survived a recall attempt. Hillsborough County District Attorney, Andrew Warren, was removed from office last year by DeSantis, making him the only governor in the country to do so.
DeSantis ridiculed the Manhattan DA for pursuing Trump over a relatively minor issue of hush money to a porn star to secure silence over an alleged affair from many years ago when he should be dealing with crimes happening daily in the jurisdiction. He called it an example of “pursuing a political agenda and weaponizing the office,” which is wrong.
