A ‘liberated’ Pelosi says new book will tackle GOP and Supreme Court narrowing democracy
Representative Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat from California, recently announced that she is writing a book that focuses on the impact of the Republican Party and the Supreme Court on democracy.
“I’m emancipated now!” said Pelosi, who previously served as Speaker of the House. “Liberated! Freedom! Free at last!”
With some newly found free time, Pelosi plans to write about “our democracy and what the Republicans and the court have done to narrow it,” she explained. She had no hesitation in criticizing the Republican Party colleagues, stating, “That’s what all roads lead to with the Republicans: reckless.”
She did express her discomfort with regard to President Joe Biden’s recent reference to former President Donald Trump, stating, “Oh, please. Don’t even say such a thing.” She expressed her relief in no longer being in a leadership position herself, saying, “I’m so relieved because it is a 24/7 — there are not enough hours in the day — job.”
Pelosi also stated her admiration for Representative Adam Schiff, a fellow Democrat from California, whom she recently endorsed for Senate.
As there continues to be speculation about her future in the party, Pelosi says she will serve her full term in the House, though it is unclear whether she will seek reelection in 2024.
Pelosi’s office did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
