Trump supporters blast DeSantis response to expected indictment

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) faced criticism from former President Donald Trump and his supporters for his response to the potential indictment of Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Trump warned that DeSantis would eventually be targeted with “false accusations and fake stories” and made unfounded allegations about DeSantis drinking with underage girls in his 20s. Trump’s sons also criticized DeSantis, with Donald Trump Jr. calling him “pure weakness” and controlled by political donors. Eric Trump attacked DeSantis for not having a “backbone” and warned that he would not be able to handle corruption charges and he would lose support in the polls.

Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) also criticized DeSantis and predicted he would lose support in the polls, while she believes Trump will continue to solidify his position as the Republican nominee.

DeSantis responded to questions about the potential indictment by calling out Bragg for his prosecutorial record and suggesting he was pursuing a political agenda. DeSantis stated that he would not be getting involved and dismissing the investigation as a “manufactured circus.”
