Gwyneth Paltrow Reportedly To Take Stand, Accused Of Hit And Run Ski Accident
Gwyneth Paltrow, the Oscar-winning actress and founder of Goop, is reportedly set to take the stand at a trial where she is being accused of a hit-and-run incident at a Utah ski slope in 2016. The incident took place at Flagstaff Mountain, part of the Deer Valley Resort near Park City on a beginner’s course called the Bandana Run. Paltrow was sued by retired optometrist Terry Sanderson in 2019, who alleged that she plowed into him and left him lying in the snow without calling for help.
Paltrow responded to the lawsuit, calling it meritless and stating that she remembers what happened very clearly. She filed a countersuit, asking for $1 and the costs of her legal expenses if she won. Paltrow claimed that Sanderson actually skied downhill into her in a “full body blow”.
The incident has attracted significant media attention, with Paltrow’s controversial lifestyle brand Goop also making headlines. Last year, the company introduced a candle named “This Smells Like My Vagina,” which sold out within hours of its release. Paltrow has defended the product as a provocation meant to celebrate female empowerment and body positivity.
The trial is ongoing, and Paltrow will take the stand to defend herself against Sanderson’s accusations.
