Easiest Way To Make A Buck? Block A Highway During A ‘Racial Justice’ Protest
If you are looking for some passive income during President Joe Biden’s tenure, you might want to consider blocking a highway in the name of the Black Lives Matter movement and hoping for some police pressure to get off the road. According to recent news, the City of Philadelphia has awarded $9.25 million to around 300 protesters who were tear-gassed and subjected to police brutality for plopping down on Interstate-676 to protest George Floyd’s death in 2020.
Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney acknowledged the immeasurable pain and trauma caused by a legacy of systemic racism and police brutality against black and brown Philadelphians. While the settlement will provide some healing to the people and neighborhoods affected by the demonstrations, it is essential to remember that the protesters came together to bring traffic to a grinding halt, posing a significant safety hazard.
Moreover, it is worth noting that the city will offer hundreds of thousands of dollars to the nonprofit Bread & Roses to provide counseling to the politically-focused organization’s activists, focusing on social justice, racial equality, and other leftist ideals. Similarly, New York City recently announced plans to grant thousands of dollars each to certain protesters alleging police brutality during the 2020 riots.
In conclusion, blocking highways during “racial justice” protests could potentially be a lucrative option, but it is not without its risks and dangers.
