DeSantis blasts Trump’s ‘character’ in wake of Stormy Daniels hush money scandal
Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida criticized the character of former President Donald Trump in an interview with Piers Morgan.
DeSantis made the comments in the wake of Trump’s possible indictment by the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg related to allegations of hush money payments made to porn star, Stormy Daniels, in 2016. While previously avoiding commenting on Trump’s 2024 bid, DeSantis criticized Trump’s character when it comes to leadership and cited George Washington’s example of putting the Republic’s interest before personal gain.
DeSantis also clarified his previous statement regarding the potential Trump indictment, stating that he couldn’t speak to the matter since he didn’t know the exact details. He also reiterated that his focus is on serving the country and criticized Trump’s approach to leadership, contrasting it with his own leadership strategy of avoiding daily drama and focusing on achieving measurable goals. DeSantis mentioned that his mission was to set a positive standard for other Republicans to follow in Florida.
Finally, DeSantis shared that he is not willing to engage in social media fights, even if it’s Trump taking jabs at him.
