Russia Has Recovered Pieces Of Downed U.S. Drone: Report
Russia has reported that it may have found some parts of the American drone which went down in the Black Sea last week after being chased by Russian fighter jets. According to a report by The New York Times published on Wednesday, hobbyists managed to pick up some of the chatter between Russian aircraft and ships in the area. Several audio recordings were made and the captured conversations indicated that a number of pieces of the drone had been recovered including its engine casing, nose, wing, and gas tank.
Although code words were used, it is believed that the Russians have not recovered any sensitive technology. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, Mark Milley, had earlier said that it was unlikely anyone would be able to retrieve anything of use from the drone’s crash site because the wreckage probably sank to some significant depths. The US is still investigating the incident but does not want to take it further as an act of war.
