Writer Aaron Sorkin Shuts Down The Idea Of Using AI Technology For Screenplays

Aaron Sorkin, a writer and director, stated on Wednesday that he opposes using artificial intelligence to create scripts and believes viewers will value” humans'” works more.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 61-year-old author stated at the Adobe Summit 2023 that he didn’t believe AI could produce a show like his preferred TV show” The West Wing” because it is merely being fed prior work.

I assume that they have loaded a million very successful films, whether they’re movies or Western movies or romantic musicals, into the product.” Whether it’s that — there’ll almost the same kind of software for writing sung songs ,” the director and writer said.

A computer can now produce something similar, but it didn’t read the scripts that were initially fed into the product, he continued. And I believe you’ll appreciate activities done by people more.

While he has no issue with the technology being used as a” co-pilot ,” the author of” The Social Network” explained that his attitude stems from the fact that” I have to sit in the room with people who are experts at it and not know anything … I feel left behind.”

Current Writers Guild of America agreements have focused on AI, the outlet noted.

When the director’s blood pressure rose to such a high level, physicians told him,” You’re supposed to be dead ,” according to The New York Times.

Most of the time, Sorkin said, it was a quiet wake-up face. ” I used to believe that I was one of those individuals who may consume whatever he pleased and smoke as much as they pleased without it having an impact on me. Was I mistaken, boy?

” There was a moment when I worried that I wouldn’t be able to write again, and in the short term, I was worried about being unable to finish writing” Camelot.”

His most recent endeavor and debut Broadway musical is titled” Camelot ,” and it is expected to debut on April 13.
