‘Family Ties’ Actress Justine Bateman Responds To Fans Saying She Looks ‘Old’
Justine Bateman, best known for her appearance on the popular TV show, ‘Family Ties,’ recently spoke out about people accusing her of looking old. She expressed her confusion over why fans and enthusiasts had such a problem with her aging. The 57-year-old actress Googled her name and found autocomplete results that said she looked old. During an interview with ’60 Minutes Australia,’ she told the interviewer that she didn’t understand what people were talking about after looking at the photos.
Bateman’s reaction to the aging comments was that she just didn’t care. She loves how she looks and sees her wrinkles as a representation of who she is. She also expressed her sadness for the women who are obsessed with their appearance and spend too much time worrying about fixing things on their faces. Bateman urged them to forget about their faces and focus on other things they are meant to do in life.
“I like looking in the mirror and seeing that evidence,” Bateman concluded, expressing her appreciation for how she’s changed over the years. She also made it clear that she has no interest in plastic surgery as she loves who she is now and doesn’t want to erase any progress she’s made in life.
Bateman is the sister of ‘Arrested Development’ actor Jason Bateman and has worked on various TV and film projects as a writer, producer, and director. Her latest book, ‘Face: One Square Foot of Skin,’ includes stories from women about aging and society’s obsession with youthful appearances.
