Seven-year-old Liza Scott captured the hearts of people worldwide by raising thousands of dollars for her upcoming brain surgeries. Scott recently opened a lemonade stand at her family’s Alabama bakery and in a shock to everyone, “Lemonade for Liza” has raised over $300,000.

The funds will help pay for Scott’s medical costs associated with three rare brain formations that cause grand mal seizures.

Her mother, Elizabeth Scott, said that as a single mother living paycheck to paycheck, she never imagined having the funds to pay for such expensive medical bills. Elizabeth said Liza has bad days and good days with anxious feelings around her surgery.

“I’m pretty good,” Liza stated. “Still nervous, but I’m getting better.”

Liza and her mom received free flights and hotel accommodations for her surgeries in Boston. The first surgery is set to take place this week.
