Garland Says He’s ‘More Than Willing’ to Testify to the House Judiciary Panel

Despite repeatedly failing to respond to the panel’s lawyer, Attorney General Merrick Garland stated to a House panel on March 29 that he is” more than willing” to testify before the House Judiciary Committee.

Garland discussed President Joe Biden’s proposed funding in front of the House Appropriations Committee.

Garland’s Department of Justice ( DOJ ) and FBI are the subjects of an investigation into the weaponization of the federal government led by Rep. Jim Jordan( R-Ohio ), chairman of that panel. Jordan requested evidence in a text to Garland in January, but no response has been given as of yet.

Rep. Ben Cline( R-VA ) said during his interrogation of Garland,” Jordan has asked me to ask you about a letter he sent back in January, asking you to appear before his committee.” ” He has never heard back from that letter. Can you promise to listen to him in the near future?

Garland easily replied,” Of sure I’m going to appear before the House Judiciary Committee. There are” conversations about planning that have been going on ,” he continued. There shouldn’t be any issues in that regard, in my opinion.

Garland had not even responded to the email, Cline observed.

Cline asked Garland to commit to making an appearance in front of Jordan’s saying, saying,” There has been no response to the letter, so I think there is some concern about whether you would be willing to search.”

Garland said,” I am happy.” ” More than willing”

Garland made many claims about his organization’s adherence to the rule of law during his testimony before the screen.

Cline responded by saying,” I’m astonished that you would hear so much about the rule of law when you and so many others in your department have done such a thing to destroy it.”

He cited a discussion from 2021 that involved using federal funds to target parents who attended school board sessions.

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee were informed on November 18, 2021, that the FBI had set up a” harm badge” for parents to express their worries about their children’s exposure to highly philosophical material at school board meetings.

The National School Boards Association ( NSBA) described disruptions at school board meetings across the country as” a form of domestic terrorism and hate crime” in a letter to Biden dated September 2021.

In particular, the NSBA was making reference to an increasing number of parents in the United States who were showing up at school board meetings to express their disapproval of material that was being taught to their kids, including divisive, Marxist-inspired critical race theory, far-left-wing viewpoints on sexuality and gender, and, in some cases, even expressed or pornographic sexual images.

Garland quickly responded when the NSBA requested federal assistance in handling these irate, vocal kids.

Attorney General Merrick Garland sent a letter to federal law enforcement requesting assistance in addressing the” disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence” against educators and school administrators years after the NSBA text.

The incident sparked GOP worries about the” weaponization” of the federal government.

Republicans have prioritized this as one of their best priorities since taking control of the House, passing a” Parents Bill of Rights” that stated parents have the right to disagree with what their kids are taught.
