Disney Cuts Marvel Entertainment Chair Ike Perlmutter Following Massive Layoffs
Disney has confirmed that Issac” Ike” Perlmutter, president of Marvel Entertainment, has resigned as a result of significant cuts by the House of Mouse as part of its cost-cutting initiatives.
The Disney Company has a division called Marvel Entertainment.
According to Variety, Perlmutter was fired along with Marvel Entertainment’s co-president Rob Steffens and general guidance John Turitzin.
According to the outlet, the former president worked over the past few months to support and lobby for the addition of activist investor Nelson Peltz in an effort to reshape the committee of the Walt Disney Company.
After Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger announced plans to restructure activities, reduce expenses, and transfer the dividend payment for shareholders by the end of 2023, Peltz withdrew, bringing an end to the months-long campaign in February, according to The New York Times.
