17 Things That Can Damage Your Eyes, Affect Your Vision
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 12 million people over 40 in the United States have vision impairment, and about 61 million U.S. adults are at high risk for significant vision loss. While some factors that can worsen vision, such as age, can’t be controlled, there are others that can be; you just might not be aware of them.
With that in mind, we asked doctors to put together some of the unexpected things that may damage your eye health and affect your vision. Here are some of the things they listed:

1. Spending Too Much Time in Front of a Computer
Unfortunately, spending too much time in front of the computer can seriously impact your eye health. According to Nashville-based ophthalmologist Melissa Toyos, computer use is the primary emerging cause of dry, irritated eyes. Moreover, vision problems related to computer use are so prevalent that the American Optometric Association (AOA) has named them Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS).
