Former NHL player Georges Laraque recently called out professional wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray (also known as Bubba Ray of the legendary Dudley Boyz) on social media after Bully Ray referred to hockey players as “a bunch of fake tough guys.” In response, Bully Ray challenged Laraque to a fight and promised to “put him through a table” if he were to enter the wrestling ring.
In an interview with OutKick’s Mike “Gunz” Gunzelman, Bully Ray dismissed Laraque’s request for a charity boxing match and insisted on a straight-up wrestling match.
Bully Ray, who has been involved in wrestling for more than three decades, said that he has faced some of the toughest and meanest people on the planet and was not impressed by Laraque’s comments. Furthermore, he claimed that wrestlers like himself have no off-season and must continuously perform every night, while athletes from other sports can take time off to recover from their respective seasons.
Laraque, who was known as “the enforcer” during his time with the Montreal Canadiens and was involved in more than 130 fights throughout his NHL career, has not yet responded to Bully Ray’s challenge.
