GOP Candidate Responds to Trump Indictment: ‘Dark Moment in American History’

Vivek Ramaswamy, who is running for the GOP’s 2024 presidential nomination and is known for his anti-ESG activism, responded to the indictment of former President Donald J. Trump on March 30, calling it a “dark moment in American history.” He warned that using police power to arrest political rivals is un-American and could undermine public trust in the electoral and justice systems.

Ramaswamy’s spokesperson told The Epoch Times that the indictment will not dissuade the candidate from his pursuit of the presidency, as he aims to lead a national revival.

Trump allies, such as former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, have also criticized the indictment as baseless and a sad day for America.

Meanwhile, a Manhattan jury has voted to indict Trump, but a date for the arraignment, when he will formally receive the indictment document, has yet to be set, according to Joseph Tacopina, an attorney for Trump.
