Twitter Officially Joined The Censorship Regime When It Silenced ‘Trans Day Of Vengeance’ Reporting
Twitter has faced criticism for censoring truthful reporting on the “Trans Day Of Vengeance”. Journalists, a US congressperson and the CEO of The Federalist, Sean Davis, were blocked from the platform for discussing the event, which was planned for the same week as the Nashville shooting. Twitter also locked the New York Post out of its account for reporting on the censorship. Twitter’s head of trust and safety, Ella Irwin, claimed that the bannings were meant to hide the dangerous “Trans Day Of Vengeance” event planning, but this has been cited as a smokescreen for Twitter’s efforts to corroborate the transgender movement.
Instead of focusing on the Nashville shootings, which killed six Christians and were perpetrated by a transgender-identifying killer, much of the press has directed its attention towards the trans community, with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stating the trans community is “under attack” due to such incidents. CBS News, for example, refused to refer to the gunman as transgender in its coverage.
A study found that Twitter has become less supportive of free speech since Elon Musk acquired the company, with a significant number of censorship cases relating to criticism of transgenderism.
