WATCH: Megan Thee Stallion’s Opening Day Pitch No Strike, But Better Than Fauci’s

Megan Thee Stallion, the superstar rapper from Houston, threw the opening pitch at her hometown on Thursday as the Astros took on the Chicago White Sox. Although it was not a strike, Megan’s pitch was better than many other celebrities’ attempts, including Dr. Anthony Fauci. In a clip shared by ESPN, the rapper appeared at the Minute Maid Park in Texas to throw the ceremonial pitch, wearing an Astros jersey.

Megan stepped on the pitcher’s mound, posed for the camera, and threw the baseball. Although it missed the batter’s box, Megan’s pitch traveled the length of the field and reached home plate. Her pitch was definitely better than some other infamous pitches celebrities have made, including a disastrous one by Dr. Anthony Fauci in 2020.

In 2014, rapper 50 Cent also had the honor of throwing out the ceremonial pitch at Citi Field for the New York Mets, but his pitch missed the box by a significant margin.

One celebrity who set the gold standard for ceremonial first pitches was former President George W. Bush, who donned a FDNY jacket and threw a perfect strike across the plate at Game 3 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium in New York City, following the September 11 attacks in 2001, providing much-needed morale boost to the country.

Overall, Megan Thee Stallion’s pitch was a strong effort and celebrated by her hometown crowd.
